How to fix volume bouncing back on iPhone control centre after iOS 17 update

Same here. Extremely annoying and at times embarrassing. This iOS is RIDDLED with small bugs like this. I’ve been an iPhone user for the last 10 years and this iOS is pushing me to try a different brand phone for the first time. Support is awful and this bug has carried through about 6 updates.

I am having the same problem. In control centre volume is bouncing back to normal after making changes. I have to try at least three times to change the volume from control centre. This is painful!!! Please APPLE fix this issue that is being carried out from last 5-6 updates.

With 17.5.1 version I am facing volume issue.

when I reduce volume it is bouncing back to full volume.

i tried with beats EarPods too same issue with that.

No, the brightness just goes all the way to zero when even brushing against it (which I did log feedback for and have gotten zero response). Like someone else said, I'm definitely looking at other phones when I need a replacement (possibly before, if Apple Intelligence is the complete cluster I expect it to be).

17.5.2 here. Randomly. Have same issue. Especially when I flick it, I expect the volume to set AND stay at zero percent. Dragging generally also sometime bounces back the volume to a more or less “on” percentage.

Looks almost as if an App is changing this in a background process?

Maybe Apple should consider this as a “security permission”, where apps need to ask for permission to alter volume?

Yup, although there's no bounce when flicking the screen brightness sitting right next to it! 🤷‍♂️

This is still an issue in 17.2 and it’s driving me mad. APPLE FIX THIS!

I see a moderator was kind enough to edit one of the replies. Any chance a moderator or other Apple representative can actually speak to this? That would be helpful.

This is driving me mad. I can’t turn the volume down completely anymore because it bounces back to minimum (not mute). Even with the volume keeps it bounces back.

I experience it when I drag down. I don’t “flick”.

The issue is not whether you flick or drag the slider. It seems more dependent on the speed at which it is dragged. Your comment does not contribute to this issue.

Same here. And it’s usually after I close the control center screen that it bounces back.

This doesn’t happen to me because of flicking. I do drag but when I close command center it bounces back up. Not a flicking issue.

Update: it still happens in 17.3
