Long press no longer working on keyboard

Changed to a Mini Mac Ventura and the long press to get special characters no longer worked on my wifi keyboard. Grrr. So frustrating. I have looked at forums endlessly to no avail. Complicated solutions that don't work. Then today. BINGO.

System Preferences>Keyboard. At the top it says 'Delay until Repeat' with a slider from Long (default) to Short. I slid this to current position, two back from Short, and hey presto my long press with special characters works again. SIMPLE.

That's all it took - why, oh why, isn't that posted everywhere?
