In my case it helped to delete the Wifi Network module and reinstall a new one.
System Settings ... > Network > control click onto Wifi -> delete
... button and the bottom > Add Service... -> add a new Wifi module
Problems solved ( at least for me ).

Settings>Network>Network Filters
Disabled ‘Little Snitch,’ and all is working.

Contacted Apple support. Here is what we did to solve it. seems like my issues were caused by a corrupted time file of some sort.
open terminal
type sudo rm /var/db/timed/com.apple.timed.plist
enter password
restart computer
make sure wifi is connected
settings > time and date > reenable auto date & time
Voila
Tried about everything there’s to try. Unfortunately my time is worth more than the machine. Sorry Genius. Sadly my Mac has now joined my little museum of useless Microsoft Windows machines. Miss Steve Jobs!
I’m having the exact same issue. Network works, than suddenly stops. I can’t even renew DHCP anymore. Only a restart re-enables the network. No fancy tools installed, happens many times per day. Feels like I’m back on Windows 😅
sorta glad it’s not just me. Upgraded to Sonoma. After 2 days suddenly no Wi-Fi access even though it shows connected. It is Sonoma. I have an old Mac ( on Monterey ). I just use it for music and it can talk to my router just fine no connectivity issues. May have to try downgrading to an older backup? May lose a few days worth or work but cannot work at all as is. Arrrrgh!
Installed Sonoma and internet stopped working. Tried everything. Created new user, it would start back up and stop on both accounts. What finally worked was to remove Thunderbolt Bridge, remove Wifi, and remove all VPN accounts. Restart and add them back one at a time Wifi, Thunderbolt etc... internet issue resolved. I cloud working, Apparently some of the filters, services are not compatible with Sonoma. Will install Antivirus apps and see which push out errors.
Hi Paul,
How are you connecting to your network, Ethernet/wired or WiFi/wireless? After upgrading to Sonoma, I'm unable to connect using Ethernet/wired, as per: Ethernet (through Thunderbolt Display) no… - Apple Community
Kind regards,
Adam
I have a Mac Pro running Sonoma. I tried all the suggestions and nothing worked, still intermittent internet connection issues. I did notice from some log messages this had to do with DNS somehow. My router has OpenDNS IP's hard-coded and none of our other devices (all Apple products, such as iPhones and my wife's Mac Air on Ventura) were having issues at all.
Just on a hunch I logged into my Asus wifi router and set "Connect to DNS Server automatically" to true (eliminating the OpenDNS IP's) and since then I have had no problems. Probably 5 days ago.
For me, in the end, it was the port expander / docking station with hard wired Ethernet. Connected via thunderbolt port. When internet connection drops, I unplug the thunderbolt, wifi kicks in and instantly reconnects. Reconnect thunderbolt and it’s all good. Started happening after Sonoma upgrade.
Sonoma upgrade messed up my Network locations. I had to remove every single Network location and start over, I could not even start Wi-Fi it was greyed out for some reason.
System settings sees the wifi.
Chrome, Safiri, Feedback assistant, App Store, Little Snitch (not compatible) updater
Everything thinks that they are off line except Systems setting Wi-Fi
Switched to personal hot spot using this phone. Same. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Time on the MacBook was incorrect and when I set it to the correct date and time in settings all of a sudden the internet started working.
Since upgrading to
...Sonoma 14.1, I cannot sign in to Apple with my ID and password via settings nor at iCloud.com...even with 2 factor authentications ...yet was able to get this support board (very strange). What is going on? My email is popping up with SMTP error connection and my calendars are not syncing with iCloud. My son has iMac running 13.6.1 and I can login to iCloud without issue. With my iPhone 14 Pro Max ....no issues except that calendars do not sync.
I have been online with support, rebooted in safe mode, same thing.
When logging in to Apple ...strange message 'no internet connection' yet I am connected.
Try restarting in safe mode followed by a normal restart.
