After reading other posts to turn off network filters I observed that the only two filters were for Kaspersky Internet Security and it would not allow me to disable the filters. I quit the Kaspersky Internet protection app and restarted the Mac. This resolved the problem... I since learned that the macOS now includes antivirus and malware protection XProtect that runs in the background. Also learned that Kaspersky is not compatible with macOS Sonoma, so it looks like I no longer need that software.

In my case I had a USBC connector going to an old USB hub, which then had an ethernet connector to a hard wired ethernet cable. I eliminated that, and just used a USBC connector going straight to the ethernet cable; that seemed to make all the problems go away. I'd also say in the past I've had success by adding DNS server IP addresses to the DNS entries under Network- click the LAN device you're connecting to, Advanced, DNS and add entries like for google's DNS servers e.g. 8.8.8.8 or 9.9.9.9

I have a Mac Pro running Sonoma. I tried all the suggestions and nothing worked, still intermittent internet connection issues. I did notice from some log messages this had to do with DNS somehow. My router has OpenDNS IP's hard-coded and none of our other devices (all Apple products, such as iPhones and my wife's Mac Air on Ventura) were having issues at all.

Just on a hunch I logged into my Asus wifi router and set "Connect to DNS Server automatically" to true (eliminating the OpenDNS IP's) and since then I have had no problems. Probably 5 days ago.

Installed Sonoma and internet stopped working. Tried everything. Created new user, it would start back up and stop on both accounts. What finally worked was to remove Thunderbolt Bridge, remove Wifi, and remove all VPN accounts. Restart and add them back one at a time Wifi, Thunderbolt etc... internet issue resolved. I cloud working, Apparently some of the filters, services are not compatible with Sonoma. Will install Antivirus apps and see which push out errors.
