Disable Caps Lock Indicator on macOS Sonoma
A feature has been added to macOS Sonoma - the onscreen caps lock indicator.
While i am sure this may be useful for some, for me it is not, is there any way to disable it?

OK maryo10 and others asking, here goes. There is nothing magic about using Terminal for Apple if you follow the steps verbatim and copy and paste the Command exactly as printed from a trusted source.
First you have to be logged on your computer as the Administrator. In other words you need to be logged on and able to make changes by entering your username/admin password.
Here is how to access the Terminal app
Go to Applications/Utilities/Terminal App. Open The Terminal App
Once open Click Return/Enter (you should see your computer name and your user name) Now you are ready to enter the command
Copy and Paste (do not try to write it) the command that yochess posted. Disable Caps Lock Indicator on macOS Sono… - Apple Community The post is the third post I believe.
I will reprint it here but all credit goes to yochees This command has worked perfectly for me. MacBookPro running Sonoma
Make sure you copy and paste exactly as written. No spaces and no deletions.
With Terminal app open and your username showing copy the first line of the command and paste to the Terminal app.
Click Return/Enter and it will ask for your admin password. Enter password and click Return/Enter
First line of command
sudo mkdir -p /Library/Preferences/FeatureFlags/Domain
Now copy the last two lines of the command and paste to the Terminal app.
Click Return/Enter.
Last two lines of command
sudo /usr/libexec/PlistBuddy -c "Add 'redesigned_text_cursor:Enabled' bool false" /Library/Preferences/FeatureFlags/Domain/UIKit.plist
Now restart your computer. All done.
Hope this helps.
But it won't stay off for very long. It's stupidly designed and really distracting.
Dear Apple Inc. Surely you've seen the dissatisfaction regarding the CAPS LOCK indicator that keeps popping up annoyingly. Please get rid of it on your next release update.
Just here to confirm this single Terminal command worked.
Thanks so much for this 🙏🏽
What if I what to reverse the change?
IT actually seems to shut off the caps lock too. So you're actually turning off your caps lock with a mouse. Then you hit CAPS LOCK key again and the dumb arrow is back.
Thank you! This solved it.
Now I'm hoping the mysterious letter "A", and the odd "√" that appears when the "A" is clicked, are also gone.

This does not fix it. Clicking caps indicator arrow shuts off Caps Lock. When you turn Caps Lock back on, indicator arrow comes back. Super annoying and intrusive. Please fix asap Apple.
Still fighting the good fight I see. 😎
I gave up explaining the simple workaround.

It's not clear if it's a good fight of if I'm just hard-headed.
It will shut off for the next time, but the time after that it will turn back on again! It's so difficult to deal with when I have to turn it on and off many times while writing chart notes.
i just keep one finger on the shift key all the time so that it's there when i need it
Thank you for the tip Ken! Your simple terminal command worked perfectly. 16-inch, 2019 MacBook Pro 16,1 macOS Sonoma 14.4
Thank you!
Beautiful yochees !!!
Your terminal command works like a charm. Thank you!
Please, make these redesigned text cursor optional.
