Iphone XR NFC problems

My refurbished iphone XR is not scanning the NFC chip in my identification, which I need to be able to use some apps on the phone. It says that it is ready to scan but nothing comes up. Could this be because it is refurbished?

Hello Siun17,

We'd like to assist you with getting NFC scanning working as expected. The following steps may be able to

correct this behavior:

Restart your iPhone. This may seem like a simple step to take but can often resolve several issues.

  1. "Press and hold either volume button and the side button until the power-off slider appears.

The volume button is located on the left side of the device, and the side button is located on the right

2. Drag the slider, then wait 30 seconds for your device to turn off. If your device is frozen or unresponsive, force restart your device.

3. To turn your device back on, press and hold the side button (on the right side of your iPhone) until you see the Apple logo."

• Be sure you're running the latest software version. Completing this step ensures that your device has the latest fixes. (Secure your data with a backup): Update your iPhone or iPad

If the issue persists, we suggest that you reach out to Apple. They will be able to look further into this with you:
