Sonoma 14 bug, window with spinning icon

The Sonoma 14 OS was installed on my MacBook Air M2 yesterday. I now have a continuous message of 2 updates available for the OS. When I click to open System Settings there is a blank Window with a spinning icon in the center. It appears to be permanently stuck, nothing available and I cannot stop it.

What should I do? Download Sonoma again? Return to Ventura? How?

Did you try rebooting?

You can always force quit a shutdown by holding the power button/TouchID for ~6-10 sec.

Force Shut down your Mac.
