Hello Farisbasheer,

Let's use the steps below to make sure that your iPhone is all up to date:

1. Back up your device using iCloud or your computer.
2. Plug your device into power and connect to the internet with Wi-Fi.
3. Go to Settings > General, then tap Software Update.
4. If you see more than one software update option available, choose the one that you want to install.
5. Tap Install Now. If you see Download and Install instead, tap it to download the update, enter your passcode, then tap Install Now. If you don't know your passcode, learn what to do.

You can also find those steps in this resource: Update your iPhone or iPad - Apple Support

If your iPhone is all up to date, let's restart: Restart your iPhone - Apple Support

Updating and restarting can sometimes help address odd behaviors.

Should that still persist, do you have any third party password management apps installed?

Also, can you let us know some of the specific apps where the password isn't being autofilled?

We'll keep moving forward from there.

Hi there Farisbasheer,

If AutoFill is not working as expected on your iPhone, first ensure you've set up AutoFill correctly using the steps outlined here: Automatically fill in your information in Safari on iPhone

If this is how you have AutoFill set up and this continues, let us know which websites or apps you are unable to use with AutoFill and provide more details on what's happening. We'll use that to narrow this down further.

Cheers!

I am having the exact same issue. To be clear, I have never had problems using auto fill password on my phone before. Never. The settings have always been correct. The settings are all correct now. I have checked them more than once. The problem is the iPhone update. Regardless of the settings, being correct, there is something wrong in the programming code for the update. Please review.

There have been several updates since all of these people have reported this problem. Why has it not been addressed in any of the updates? Could someone please respond to this question? Clearly, it is not a random issue. I find it very frustrating that so many people have reported it, and Apple has not deemed it important enough to address in their updates.

It's May 2024 and I've been trying to update passwords using my Mac (Sonomo 14.5) Safari 17.5 and there's huge problems with the password manager. If I go to a website and change the password, use the create strong password function after clicking on the Key on Safari at the password entry box, I get a new password but Apple doesn't update the password in the manager. Now I'm locked out, have to click forget password.

Sometimes, when copy the password so I can manually update the password in the manager, even after clicking on edit, I am unable to type in the password box and delete the old one and type or paste the newly created copied password. Infuriating.

Fix this Apple !!!!
