So this is the status from Quickbooks from here:

This specifically from that link:

At this time, there's no mentioned ETA for when macOS Sonoma (version 14) will be compatible with QuickBooks Desktop for Mac 2021. The program doesn't fully support yet which might cause the issue you're encountering in the system.

Furthermore, we recommend running the QBDT for Mac program on a supported operating system. Here's an article for your reference: System requirements for QuickBooks Desktop for Mac 2021.

Additionally, you can visit and read this article for more details about storing a backup copy of your business: Back up your QuickBooks Desktop for Mac company file. It also gives you step-by-step instructions on how to set up automatic backups of your company files.

"I hope that Apple will fix whatever is causing the issue as QB is a racket!"

It's not Apple's place or responsibility to make a developer do anything other than follow the AppStore rules if they choose to have their product there.

Neither does Apple set any 3rd party prices. If you have problems with QB cost, you need to complain to Intuit. Or spend your money elsewhere.

Progress always costs something; sometimes it's money.

After my QB desktop quit when I upgraded my OS to Sonoma, I had to call Intuit for help with the migration process. I was "out of business" for two days, and talked to no less than seven people at Intuit over the course of four hours on the phone, explaining why the migration wasn't working. Until, the next day, I finally reached a support person who knew what she was doing and who walked me through the process, step by step. This is not how you keep happy customers, but I ask you, what are our choices? When the Desktop version of QB quit, my ONLY option was to buy the subscription service. Otherwise my accounting system was inaccessible. There ought to be a law..............

I updated to Sonoma 14.1 and thankfully my QB 2019 seems to be working. I haven't tried every activity but I can at least open companies, write checks, and make deposits.Thank you Apple for making the fixes. Absolutely no thanks to Intuit. I will continue to use my QB 2019 for the time being but I am definitely going to explore some other personal finance software that is not Intuit because they just aren't into customer service.
