I cant post photos on Facebook on my iPhone 15

I just got the iPhone 15. I wanted to post something on marketplace in Facebook. I have to allow access to photos but when I go to Facebook in the settings page that is not there. So I went to privacy, then photos and Facebook is not there either. So I cannot post or sell anything from my phone because there is no way to access Photos.

Hi myleslee44,

Just to confirm, is this happening with other apps as well, or only Facebook? That information will help us plan how to proceed.

If you're unable to make those changes for apps, let's check if restrictions are enabled that may be causing that behavior. This link explains how to check that, and will guide you through that process: Use parental controls on your child's iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch

Allow changes to privacy settings

The privacy settings on your device give you control over which apps have access to information stored on your device or the hardware features. For example, you can allow a social-networking app to request access to use the camera, which allows you to take and upload pictures.

To allow changes to privacy settings:

1. Go to Settings and tap Screen Time.
2. Tap Content & Privacy Restrictions. If asked, enter your passcode.
3. Under Privacy, tap the setting that you want to change.

Here are the things you can restrict:

* Location Services: Lock the settings to allow apps and websites to use location
* Contacts: Prevent apps from accessing your Contacts
* Calendars: Prevent apps from accessing your Calendar
* Reminders: Prevent apps from accessing your Reminders
* Photos: Prevent apps from requesting access to your photos
* Share My Location: Lock the settings for location sharing in Messages and Find My Friends
* Bluetooth sharing: Prevent devices and apps from sharing data through Bluetooth
* Microphone: Prevent apps from requesting access to your microphone
* Speech Recognition: Prevent apps from accessing Speech Recognition or Dictation
* Apple Advertising: Prevent changes to advertising settings
* Allow Apps to Request to Track: Prevent tracking activity by apps that you've denied access to
* Media & Apple Music: Prevent apps from accessing your photos, videos, or music library

Thanks!

Hey myleslee44,

We'd like to make sure your iPhone is up to date. The current iOS version is 17.0.2. You can check which version your iPhone is on by going to Settings > General > About. If it's not on that iOS, please update your iPhone and see if allowing photos on Facebook is available: Update your iPhone or iPad - Apple Support

If it's not, please contact Apple Support. They'd be in a better position to investigate this issue further with you: Get Support

All the best.

Hey myleslee44,

We're grateful that you posted here so we can help you figure this out.

We want to recommend that you start with the information in this article, just to ensure that our bases are covered when it comes to editing those permissions settings on your iPhone: Control access to information in apps on iPhone - Apple Support

From that resource:

Review or change access to information in apps

The first time an app wants to use information from another app, you receive a request with an explanation. For example, a messaging app may request access to your contacts to find friends who are using the same app. After you grant or deny access, you can change access later.
1. Go to Settings  > Privacy & Security.
2. Tap a category of information, such as Calendars, Reminders, or Motion & Fitness.
A list appears showing the apps that requested access. You can turn access on or off for any app on the list.

Thank you for being a part of the community here. We hope this information helps!

Best wishes.

Hello myleslee44!

This is why we mentioned that you would need to contact Apple Support. Here's the link again if needed: Get Support

If that link doesn't work in your country or region, you can call Apple Support instead: Contact Apple for support and service - Apple Support

If there isn't a phone number for your country/region, you'll need to use the phone number in the country nearest you.
