I would never advocate for falling back on a state of the art 2021 M1 Max .
This is not a Sonoma issue, there must be a conflict — I would spend my effort on resolving the issue at hand.

Falling back can be done erasing, reformatting, initializing the internal parent drive.. and then reinstalling the macOS, restoring your user data from backup. How to reinstall macOS - Apple Support
