ssd not recognised by Sonoma
My camera's internal SSD does not mount on desktop display although the internal CF card does mount. Both mounted ok before Sonoma upgrade.
Can anyone help please?

the Grand Arbiter of whether a disk is working or not Is Disk Utility.
A drive that will not tell Disk Utility its Make&model, and a reasonable non-zero size/capacity, can not be used, repaired, or erased. if its cabling and power are adequate the drive has died.
while disk Utility is Open try a repair Disk while you are up. it may fix minor problems.
Update:
Disk Utility now sees both SSD and CF card but only mounts one of them (CF card) the SSD can now be mounted manually in Disk Utility.
I've reported it to Apple and with Experts but they say I'm the only one in the UK with the issue - my issue is I have a Sabrent SSD 4tb and it's not mounting. I can see it attached in system reports under USB 3.0 but won't mount. Disk utility doesn't show it.....but it does show up on my iPad pro which I've not upgraded. So so frustrating - get a grip apple !!
In my case the internal SSDs in TWO devices (a camera and a drone) are not mounting whereas they did before the upgrade. Safe to rule out coincidence I think, particularly as both devices have cards (CF and SD) which do mount after the upgrade.
if Disk Utility on your Mac can not recognize those features I mentioned, the drive can not be used on that Mac.
is the cabling and power adequate?
A lot of issue seem to happen right around the time of major upgrades. They are not always cause-and-effect, sometimes just a coincidence.
If the drive is not seen in Disk Utility, it can not be manipulated on that Mac in any way.
Not Mounted for use.
Not Repaired.
Not Erased.
It's rubbish for Apple to say you're the only one experiencing this in the UK - there shouldn't be even one!
So, yes, Apple needs to get on and fix this!
Thanks for replying, jonny190.
I disagree. It’s showing on my iMac 27 and my iPad so can’t have died
Why would it stop mounting straight after the upgrade to 14.0?
Interesting- not even tried my Sony camera yet after upgrade
