no video, black screen

Mac Book Pro 2022 M2 Pro, I get the apple logo and start tone but then nothing, when I boot into options mode, it says loading options but then just a blank screen. My ethernet cable comes alive and blinks like crazy but still no video. I've tried an external monitor through both HDMI and USBc, no joy. My scheduled appointment is a week away, any suggestions while I wait?

MacBook Pro 2016 has a blank screen I have a 2016 MacBook pro with a blank screen. Thinking it's just another Flexgate problem, I installed a brand new screen, which also comes up blank. External video works OK. On neither the new screen nor the original one do I see icons when the screen is illuminated with a flashlight. This tells me there is neither backlight nor any video signal going to the screen. My question is can there be video going to the external monitor with no video going to the internal screen? And, if so, what's the problem? And I already changed the video cable from the logic board to the display, and reset SMC and PRAM. Any ideas would be appreciated. Thank you. [Re-Titled by Moderator]

macbook pro 2021 black screen but can see "shadows" of the background Hello, Today my 2021 Macbook pro screen went black. I have been reading the other forms and it doesn't seem like I am having the same problem as everyone else. Basically, the screen is black when on, but when I up the brightness, I can see "shadows" of the background and even faintly make out the apple logo when I restart it. Unfortunately its not enough to see anything to be able to adjust. I have plugged this into my TV was able to use that as a monitor for now, but any ideas on the problem of the fix?

this is the traditional way of recovering after setting runtime screen resolution 'out-of-bounds':

start up in safe mode.

change the screen resolution while in safe mode.

safe mode takes defaults for everything, and even uses a modest default resolution for the screen.

when you make a change is safe mode, it "sticks" in regular mode.

see if the screen works in regular mode after that change.
