Apple photos disappear in folders

I created custom folders for pictures in Apple photos app and they keep deleting without me deleting. They show up in the recently deleted folder and I have to recover photos

More Photos in iCloud library than in folders in albums My photos library has all the photos I have taken, some 8000 or so, yet if you look at a particular folder for example photos from a particular holiday there are photos missing from this folder. There are all the photos from that particular holiday in the library but fewer showing in the actual folder itself. Any help would be gratefully appreciated.

New update photo album random folders Hi How do I stop allowing Apple to decide where my photos go? I dont need other peoples "trips" saved in my phone. The amount of unnecessary folders and new titles is absurd. How can I get rid of all the random new folders?

Folders in Photos do not contain photographs. They contain albums and enclosed folders. Only albums contain images, so create Albums and put your images in them.

I am referring to photos disappearing in the albums I create from "recents"
