AirPrint is printing blank pages

I updated to iOS17.3 a couple days ago. In my previous post I laid out how I managed to print with my earlier iOS17 updates. I had to go through the same process of iPhone hard rese with router and printer both off; restart router then phone then printer. After 3 tries it worked and is still working 4 days later. Only remaining issue is I now must wake up the printer manually in order to print from Photos.

iPhone 12 Pro here, iOS 17.4.1 with same issue.

While printing a photo directly from gallery shows the preview correctly then prints blank page, tested on multiple air printers, always blank pages.

My workaround for now is adding the image to a note, then printing the note and fixes it, pdfs also print fine, only images have this problem.

The issue exists since the first version of iOS 17 and is still not fixed...

Having the same problem. Print preview is fine, but printer produces blank pages. One workaround I found is to copy/paste in to the notes app. Then it prints, but it is not an elegant solution. It has been happening since IOS 17.0. I figured the recent patches would fix it, but I installed 17.1.2 a few days ago and it hasn’t been resolved.

I just now, after reading most of these comments, got around it by changing the type of paper to “light paper” instead of whatever the default paper was. My HP printer only has one tray, so maybe there’s something in this solution that tricks the software.

This appears to be fixed in iOS 17.4.1 - I have updated more than one device to this version and it has immediately solved the issue.

Solved. Turned off router, printer and iPhone at the same time. Turned on router then did a hard reset on my iPhone then restarted the printer. Now I’m printing again.

17.4 FINALLY fixes it!!! Of course now I am having issues with apple school manager but and have to update 300 ipads, but at least it is fixed!!!!

I downloaded IOS 17.4 yesterday, and can confirm, THIS IS NOW FIXED!!

Although it was never referenced in this, or in ANY of the past updates since it was initially broken.

Easy solution just try to edit the photo by doing anything then airprint it will work fine which weird why it does work after editing the photo just click edit then do anything scale or increase color etc it will work !

iPad worked fine with IOS 16 updated to lasted version of IOS 17 and document prints maybe one line then everything else is blank. Use android device same site same document and the document prints perfectly.

Reading other comments this appears to be a problem with IOS 17. At least I have an android device so that I can print.

I have found that since upgrading my devices to iOS/iPadOS 17 (all the way up to 17.0.3) I get blank pages when I AirPrint from the photos app, but things print normally from mail and safari. I use an HP M401dne and I have already updated the firmware to the latest HP provides (20210202). I find it odd that it only happens when printing from the photos app.

This worked for me! When I add a small mark on the photo, it works. When I reverted the picture back to its original state, blank.

Let's get this FIXED!

Same issue for me. I upgraded my iPhone 14 to iOS 17.0.3 and now I air print only blank pages from my Photos app. I tried a document from Files and it works fine. I've restarted the router, printer and iPhone to no avail. Seems Photos has a glitch??

I work in a school, we have over 160 iPads that are all on iOS 17.3

NOT ONE prints photos since updating to iOS 17. They all spit out blank pages.

Also this post says it only has 36 replies, it seems like over 100 replies since September had been removed
