Standalone apple watch issues with battery

I have an SE Apple watch, it's a standalone, so it's connected to family sharing. It has GPS and cellular. My cell usage goes up every time I use it, is that normal? Also, when I turn on LTE it's supposed to last up to five hours. It lasted an hour and died immediately. I am a few updates behind, would that make a difference?

Hi AbeIsaiah08,

Thank you for using the Apple Support Communities! Updates can help as they often include advanced energy-saving technologies. We would recommend updating by following the steps below:

Update your Apple Watch

If your Apple Watch has watchOS 6 or later, you can install updates without your iPhone:
1. Make sure that your watch is connected to Wi-Fi.
2. On your watch, open the Settings app.
3. Tap General > Software Update.
4. Tap Install if a software update is available, then follow the onscreen instructions.
Leave your Apple Watch on its charger while the update completes, and don't restart your Apple Watch. When the update completes, your Apple Watch restarts on its own.

Hope this helps!

Have a great day.
