music stopping when I receive any notification

When listening to music or podcast, it stops when ever there is a phone notification (be it new message or Wellness etc). I have to manually go to the phone to press the 'play' button again to resume podcast or music.

This is disruptive especially if I am driving and annoying when I am trying to listen to a podcast/music

This only started happening right after I upgraded to iOS 17.0.1

is this a new feature? how to turn this off? I still want the notification, but do not want to have to press the play button to resume the music

Thanks

Thanks for the reply - I currently get around by setting Focus to automatically turn on when Spotify or Podcast is running - However this is not ideal as I want to still be able to get notified if a message comes in and I can respond - By having focus on, I have to periodically check for messages.

The main question is whether this is a new feature and if so, how to disable it

If it is not a feature, am I the only one with this problem? and if so, I need to dive deeper to see what happened

Hello.

With my knowledge it seems like there is no setting for this.

There is a few ways to resolve this issue.

1: Use silent mode

2: Use focus

3: Disable some notifications

Personally i recommend method 1, and i highly DO NOT recommend method 3 if you still want to receive notifications.

I hope this works but please reply if this still does not help with your question:)
