Apple Music playing favorites playlist instead of stopping

When I select an album to play, Apple Music continues to play what I assume is a “favorites“ playlist endlessly once the album is finished and should have stopped playing . This just started last night. I haven’t changed any settings on the phone, and can’t find a setting that would affect this (as far as I know.) Coincidentally (?) I DID just set up a new MacBook Air yesterday,. Phone is iPhone 8, iOS 16.7.5 This is really annoying because I listen to music to fall asleep ( the reason I choose albums rather than stations) and when the music keeps playing it eventually wakes me up again.

Hello Tomar54,

It sounds like the "Autoplay" feature might be enabled. Autoplay continues playing songs after your selected content ends. Here's how you can check and disable it:

1. Open Apple Music on your iPhone.

2. Start playing any song or album.

3. While the song is playing, tap on the 'Now Playing' bar at the bottom of the screen.

4. Scroll down below the Up Next queue; there you should see an 'Autoplay' icon (it looks like an infinity symbol).

5. If this icon is highlighted, it means Autoplay is active. Tap on it to turn it off.

This should stop Apple Music from playing additional songs after your selected album has finished.

If this doesn't solve the problem, or if the Autoplay feature was already turned off, it might be worth checking if there are any pending updates for your iPhone or the Apple Music app, as sometimes bugs can be resolved with the latest updates.
