Is there a way to get noise cancelling while wearing just one Airpod? I have a condition and I only have one ear. I am only able to wear the left airpod. So is there a way to circumvent the requirement to wear both airpods?

First Step: Lose an ear (specifically the right one)

Second Step: Buy Airpods, and put on the left one

Third Step: Find out that Noise Cancelling only works when wearing both AirPods.

If there is any way to get around this requirement I would love help on it. Otherwise, I will have wasted quite a bit of money on this purchase.

iPhone 5, iOS 10

Hello, Yes you can. On your iPhone go to Settings > Accessibility > Scroll down to AirPods > Noise Control Section > click ON Noise Cancellation with One AirPod. This will AirPods to be put in noise cancellation mode when only one AirPod is in your ear.

Hello, In my experience with the AirPodsPro I find checking the settings in Control Panel (Swiping down from top right of iPhone to bring up) and making sure the AirPods are showing up in the Control Panel AirPods sound level adjustment. If you don't see the AirPods in the sound level adjustment they are not really connected even thought see the headphone icon in the upper righthand part of screen. Also the sound adjustment slide button always shows two AirPods not one even when you are using the "Noise Cancellation with One AirPod turned on. As I type I'm using that feature and I have one AirPod in my Left ear for Noise Cancellation and leaving my right ear open to hear with. Seams to be working. I'm using a iPhone 13 Pro Max. Hopefully this helps a little.

However, I do see you are using a iPhone 5 IOS 10 and I'm not sure on that old of an iPhone the settings are the same as with a new iPhone. If it is then great!
