Figured it out!

go to + them more, when you get to images, hold down and move, like you would with an app. Put where you want and call it a day.

You’re able to rearrange them. I just click the “+” icon and it’s right there. The same amount of steps as before but instead of going from right to left, it’s from top to bottom. Yea that’s sucks for the people who somehow lost stuff..I didn’t lose a thing so in my opinion it’s not the worst update. Maybe backup your phones more often🤷🏻‍♂️ but to be completely honest…I’ve never backed up my phone nor do I even know how to 😅

To add Gif’s open the message app choose your contact tap the plus sign and lastly tap images and choose your Gif

I agree with you, but at least you can hold it down and move out to the top so it’s a two step process. Bad form Apple! Bad form

There are many (I assume) videos out there showing how to use stickers and such. I recommend going to MacMost and search for Stickers. There is a video there for almost any Mac/iOS topic.

At this point I have tried everything, I have reset my settings I went to the iMessage app and the image icon it’s not there. I haves had updated to iOS 17.1 and nothing seems to help. I have looked everywhere and I cannot send gifts via #images. I just want I don’t know what to do. Can someone please help me

I completely agree with many of the others…Why did they add more clicks to get to it. Also when I click the +, not only do i not see “images”, but there are a ton of apps in that “more” part of the list that have no use in messaging people? Why are they even there, I don’t want to sift through that. Likewise, it used to be two clicks to send an image…now that is three. Why why why does Apple make updates that do not improve user experience. Disappointing.

Yep… you can also move any menu item any where you want right from the menu…

Tap and hold until you get a haptic response, and then you can drag it up to the top menu. It will be workable, but still besides the point of why they would remove the vertical scrolling menu that was in dead space anyways, and allowed for immediate use of all those options without needing UI navigation.

Why would you expect Apple to change this? They obviously had reasons for doing it this way when they released iOS 17 (after in-house alpha testing, private beta testing and public beta testing).
