Where did GIF on text go in iPhone iOS 17?

You have seemingly turned a zero step process into a 3 step process. For maybe one of the most used features in text messaging.

Thank you. I was holding down the + sign which didn’t bring up the gifs. All I needed to do was a simple tap. Again, thank you. I agree with everyone’s comments that this update is the worst.

This allows you to reorder them so you don’t have to hit the + and scroll down

100%! What a ridiculous change! How many people thought slowing down the process with extra clicks was a good idea...again?

Same thing in MacOS with the contextual menu to add to Photos and sending via Airdrop. 🙄

Honestly, updates are suppose to make our lives easier. Who the heck came up with this 3 step process. It complicates my life not simplifing. My kids keep telling me to go to samsung, better quality and easier. Apple keep it up and you may loose this customer.

Updates have many different purposes. Sometimes that is the purpose. Sometimes it is not.

You should absolutely buy the tool that best meets your needs. Samsung has beautiful displays but sadly, usually a ton of bloatware. They also seem to have largely resolved the exploding battery problem.

I learned today that when you click the plus sign off to the left hand side of the text field. You can hold down the different activities and rearrange them to your liking. I still prefer the old way but atleast now it’s only 1 extra click vs. 3.

Feels like the product team is adding features just to add features-

the beauty of Apple products has always been the simplicity of use.

Now the company’s directive seems to be ‘More’ and ‘Next’. As in ‘more features’ and ‘next update.’

I wish the product development team would take a step back and say, “Is this feature actually useful? Or is it a hinderance to the user?”

This update is the worst iphone update yet. Change all you want about the format but no one want to add apple "stickers" or "apple cash" to text messages. Now I have to scroll for gifs and memes? why are we even texting this is so embarrassing for apple no wonder everyone is trading up to google phones.

At least you find the choice of more. All I have is my camera roll, nothing else.

And, facial recognition stopped working. All my settings have been changed too. This is rediculous.

I dont' even see a third option. It's just gone. When I click the + sign, and choose MORE, it's not there. I also went to Apps. Messages and turned them all off, still didn't work. Turned then back and and back off. No good. Restarted my IPhone. Nope.

Seriously considering switching to an Android. I don't want to, but these updates are just insane. Do they just sit at a round table and think" How do we confuse and frustrate the iphone user, change what they are used to without any explaination, and don't allow them to find the answer. I am so beyond frustrated. AND, why all the apps now under the texing plus sign. I am not going to Venmo from my apps, nor use Resy. For the love of gawd...change it back! Has anyone figured it out for those that don't see it with on two clicks allowed and find it under the + sign and MORE? -
