Long update time

Received a replacement iPhone 13 for my iPhone 13 mini. When attempting to set up the new device using my old device, it won’t update the

ios. I have let it go for 2 to 24 hours between 5 attempts. My iPad is connected to the same Wi-Fi and had no issue updating to the latest 16 (about 6 minutes with the reboot). Problem is I have to return the one iPhone soon, as it’s a replacement.

"Long update time: iPhone 13 is right out of the box so as I’m gong through the steps to move stuff from the old phone to the new it needs to update iOS. Before it can finish moving all my data. And it never can install the 2.9GB update. the new phone isn’t paired to anything, let alone a computer. (I have PC only)"

Transferring to a New iPhone:

Use Quick Start:

Quick Start is a service provided by Apple for transferring to a new iPhone. So, Force Restart your iPhone, and then try using Quick Start.

then...

Update, Perhaps Using Ethernet:

Then, try the update. If WiFi or Cellular is not an option, then tru connecting it to your computer, but connect your computer to Ethernet. If no Ethernet port, then this is the adapter to use: The Belkin USB-C to Gigabit Ethernet Adapter - Apple

Thanks for the recommendation. The 13 mini is the phone I’ve used but cracked screen + discontinued model (that didn’t sell well) = replaced with 13 through Apple care.
