AirPod pro replacement ear tips don’t fit!

(I have solved this problem. However I am posting because many people asked it before and the replies didn’t provide the solution.)

I have replacement ear tips that came from the Apple Store. I have tried and tried and can’t get the new tips to fit on the AirPod. I broke one of the tips trying to put it on, and my fingers hurt from trying to install.

this is happening even though I am aligning the ovals. The tips are original. oh, for some reason my EarPods appear to be white inside instead of black like some that are pictured.

Solution: part of previous ear tip was left on the AirPod. It prevented new one from being installed. It was difficult to see the left part was not part of the actual earpod, although later I notes it was white not black. I was able to ISE my finger tips to grasp it and pull it off. Afterwards, it was extremely easy to put the new tip on.)
