Siri/Voice Texting not working

I just purchased the iPhone 15 Pro Max. I don’t have Bluetooth in my car so I connect the USB-C cable to listen to music. If I say “Hey Siri” text “John Doe” Siri responds, but then when Siri asks, “what would you like to say” and I begin speaking, it does not type/text anything as if it can’t hear me. As soon as I disconnect the usb-c cable and try it again it works fine. I want to be able to listen to music and text while driving by using Siri. Can anyone help with this issue? Thanks in advance.

Hi juvenal113,

We understand you're having some trouble with using your iPhone with your car and we want to help.

In this instance, your iPhone is still sending the microphone information through the car.

There isn't a way to separate this part of connecting with your car.

See if you're able to tap on Siri when she appears on screen to change which device the input is sent to.
