Photo Slideshow

A while ago I saw a MacBook that would display a photo slideshow of some sort when it was sleeping. I am also interested in displaying a photo slideshow for my monitor screen, I believe that is what it is called. Would anyone know how to achieve either of these results? Any help would greatly be appreciated.
