Mine doesn’t; it always gives the exact location, usually within 3 meters (10 feet) or less; it can even show which lane I am in on a highway or what room I am in when inside. For Find My to accurately locate your position the phone you want to track must have:

  • A cellular data connection
  • Wi-Fi turned on
  • Bluetooth turned on
  • A battery with sufficient charge (>20%)
  • If outdoors, a clear view of the sky unblocked by heavy foliage

Note that it will never show where the phone has been, only where the phone is now, or its last location if it has lost power of a data connection.
