Standby Mode not staying on iPhone 15 Pro

I have a 15pro with the most up to date version of IOS. I want to use the standby mode as a clock at night

No matter what I do with settings the screen goes off after approximately 30 seconds and I have to tap or move my hand to get it back on.

I have tried forcing restart, resetting the phone, checking the settings but I can’t understand why.

It seems to be an intermittent issue for many users?

I’m also using an apple mag safe charger and genuine apple mag safe case

I was having the same problem intermittently and found that when the phone was in low power mode (which it often is at night) the screen shut off after about 20 second even though it was set to never. Turning off low power mode resolved the issue. This is still a bug in my book as the phone has to be charging to go on standby.

I have the same 80% setting on but have not experienced the same issue(s). After making the selections noted in my previous post, the standby clock is visible when I wake up, battery charged to 80%, and red/night mode or normal/daytime mode depending on how much ambient light there is in the room.

I haven’t tried it but if you go to your Standby settings / Display, there’s an option/toggle to choose Night Mode, ON or OFF. I think by default it’s set to ON.

I wonder if the difference isn't that I'm describing the overnight mode with dimmed red numerals. That's the display that's supposed to automatically shut off after a period of time with the display set to "Automatic" and does not.

If you're describing the brighter numbers that get displayed during the day, it could be that the brightness of the numbers combined with the heat of charging via MagSafe is requiring an occasional blanking of the display to cool the phone down.

(Because of inductive charging, more heat is created during wireless charging as compared to wired.)

Regardless, even if the display does shut off, motion the phone detects or tapping the display will turn it back on.

So I have made some progress, I can get the standby mode to stay on but it turns off during the night. Last night I went to bed at 11 and the clock was active and on till about 12:30 but then turned off.

The whole reason I purchased an expensive mag safe stand was to have this feature of a clock that’s on the screen permanently ie standby mode

I’m late to the party but just got my iphone 15 PM and I noticed in morning my standby display off and when tapping normal screen appears.

Now I had standby on for long time I know this due my kids that wake us up about every 2 hours and it was still on then. But I think it turned off as soon my phone hit 80% and stops charging. As per settings.

and for standby to work your phone needs to be charging.

so apple need to fix this when phone still on side but stops charging due the limit or when its full but still sits on a charger to have standby on.

not sure if it suppose to do that but thats what happend with me.

also hate it when always on setting turns on nightmode and lock that setting to.

There's still a bug where the 15 Pro Max display will remain on in Standby all night; that's not the way it's supposed to work. 🤷‍♂️

Regardless, charging status does not affect the display.

However if your phone does not detect it is connected to a charger, it will shut off Standby as that is one of the requirements for Standby mode - it must be connected to a charger.

Same as you. The red numerals but for me opposite problem to you lol. It works properly on "automatic" but not working at "never". I contacted Apple, they had me do many steps, off, on, reinitialize settings to finally ask for a complete wipe and try for 1 night, exact same problem so they had put me on a list that is affected with this. A "higher level" guy called me but no resolution either. I don't know what could make the exact same device (example an iPhone 15 Pro Max) work and the exact same one, don't. We'll see in some future update.
