Standby Mode not staying on iPhone 15 Pro

I have a 15pro with the most up to date version of IOS. I want to use the standby mode as a clock at night

No matter what I do with settings the screen goes off after approximately 30 seconds and I have to tap or move my hand to get it back on.

I have tried forcing restart, resetting the phone, checking the settings but I can’t understand why.

It seems to be an intermittent issue for many users?

I’m also using an apple mag safe charger and genuine apple mag safe case

I was having the same problem intermittently and found that when the phone was in low power mode (which it often is at night) the screen shut off after about 20 second even though it was set to never. Turning off low power mode resolved the issue. This is still a bug in my book as the phone has to be charging to go on standby.

15 pro running iOS 17.5.1

That’s for none always on screen, confirmed in apple shop yesterday.

Plus my work around mean screen was on all last night, so definitely a soft issue

Hard reset, does not work….always on display still goes off black…normal or night mode…..seriously Apple sort it out!

Yeah my work around was pot luck I think as didn’t work last night, definitely something in the software conflicting

I’ve basically gave up trying now, someone I work with is having the same issue. Very disappointed after purchasing a mag safe stand for this feature

That’s a terrible “solution”. They need to fix standby to work as advertised.

AOD works all night just fine on non-Apple devices, so can’t believe burn-in is the issue

Burn-in does occur on non-Apple devices, do an Internet search.

Further, it can be argued the display staying on is a bug at present; it should shut off:

The clock on my iphone15 pro stops at times. When I press the side button it seems to correct this

If you have a 14 Pro Max or 15 Pro Max with always on display, it's supposed to unless you have "Display" set otherwise.

My 15 Pro Max display never shuts off on MagSafe when set to Automatic, and it should, so I've been trying to get Apple to fix that for a while now.

I have a slightly different problem where the lock screen lights up once or twice in a minute when on a MagSafe charger using Standby Mode. Happens randomly.
