HomeKit Home Wrong Location

You have delete automation and re-create with Mac? Not with the iPhone

Bad news. So for now the Solutions is not use automation with the gps

After updating to 17.1.1 immediately all my lights turned off.

But, since my wife updated her phone as well, the location looks good.

Did it improve for anyone else?

Had the same issue. For me the above mentioned steps solved the issue.

= reset the locations, restart phone and recreate the automations that use geofencing.

This is very annoying. I set up the automation to turn the light on and a lot of stuff when I arrived home. Before iOS 17, it worked by manually setting up the home range to 300 meters. Now, it doesn't store a specific range anymore.

I often wake up in the middle of the night when the lights turn on suddenly. What a joke.

At my house it was fine now for the past few days.

This morning none of my automations were working again.

i checked the location of my home and it moved by itself a few hundred meters away again.

I did not make any changes to any settings…

And 3 days later here we go again. This time it's a bit closer, only 250 meters away. But so far no luck with any of the previous fixes. Reset significant locations on all devices of all home members, restarted them all. Restarted all home hubs. Also tried that suggestion above with taking down the home network altogether, but it still insists my home is a few streets away

I have the same issue: My home has drifted down a few streets so no automations work anymore.

I've tried clearing the significant locations and that has not worked.

I can confirm that in my contacts card & on Maps the home information is correct.

Yes. With the Mac. I just mentioned all the other things I have tried.

at first those “fixes” worked for a few days. Maybe even a week. Now they don’t even last a day. Also the home “moving back” to the correct location happens sooner, but it breaks the automations and they run when they shouldn’t.

Exact same issue. Broken since iOS 17. Home pin is right on the edge of the 100m radius for automations and I can’t change it or save a change to the radius. Location based automations are triggering completely randomly so I have lights turning on in the middle of the night with a notification that “Someone arrived home” or turning off when I’m home with a notification that “Everyone left home”. Nothing works to fix it for more than a few hours.

Hi all, unfortunately I've the same problem and I've not found a solution.

Just to share my experience when I click on Home in my automation it shows on map my Work location.

I've tried deleting and resetting both Home and Work location in my user setting but it had no effect.

In Maps application instead both Home and Work location works as expected.

Unfortunately, I have the same issue. My location is about 100 meters away from my home. I can’t use any automations. I already reset my location, reboot my network and all Apple Home Hubs but nothing works.

I don't know what you consider a lot. I have less than a handful of automations, but I have a number of sensors and devices. No, offloading didn't cause any issues. Offloading doesn't delete any vital data. It just gets rid of the app and temp files and then freshly downloads the app and reinstalls. It's easier and quicker than wiping the phone and restoring from a backup. The automations run on your hub anyway. FWIW, I'm on the new HomeKit architecture.
