iPhone 15 Pro Max Photos Blurry

I’ve gone from a 13 pro max to a 15 pro max. Used my 13 for taking photos at gigs / concerts. Fast moving low light. Always used live mode and used to get some pretty good, in focus shots. Was excited to start using my 15, but the photos are appallingly bad. So blurry, even in good light with the subject relatively still. When zoomed in the resolution is so bad all of the detail is lost and it looks worse than some photos I used to get from my old Nokia 95 decades ago. Also the sound quality on videos is nowhere near as good. Sounds very dull and tinny compared to 13 pro max. So disappointed. Considering returning it and going back to 13.

Update: The only thing that fully fixed it is doing an express exchange and getting a new device. Something was definitely wrong with the first device. Photos on new device look great

I don’t think you can see the manufacturing date of the phone (it’s the battery date shown). I have my original iPhone 15 Pro Max that I received on launch day and have never had any of the issues mentioned (nor have I had any camera issues on any of my previous Pro Max devices despite every year it seems to be an influx of posts about how terrible the current model camera is). That’s not to say some of you aren’t having issues but I definitely can’t say I have experienced any of it or seen it with any other iPhones in my household or from friends and family with them so it’s just not something I can replicate.

I am having the same issue! I’ve taken video at literally a hundred concerts. The iPhone 15 Pro Max videos and photos are worse than ones that I took with my 6S, and much worse than with my 13. Apple, please help I feel like I own a $1500 brick.

this is an example of video I took last night, remember, I’ve done this 100 times with older phones and never have seen such poor performance.

I already went to apple and they agreed my photos are blurry, but wouldn't swap the phone or replace lenses/camera etc. Seems like I just got played by apple, buying a $1000+ phone with no camera capabilities. If the issue isn't resolved I will be switching to android which I didn't really want to do, but why should I be loyal to a company that played me and won't make it right?

to add to this, I have been using my iPad in place of my phone for macro shots. Since my photos go into the cloud and are shared between devices, I'm able to view photos on my iPad that were taken with my 15 pro. It's astonishing how blurry the photos look on the bigger screen. Truly unacceptable camera quality.

You said your 15 pro max takes great pictures. Can you say this about your front camera as well.

i bought my phone just two weeks ago directly at Apple Store and I too am getting Grainy selfie photos

it looks good on screen before you take it and then photo self corrects and looks bad on clicked photo.

front display has a screen guard from Apple but that’s same on my old iPhone 13 Pro and that doesn’t have this problem

can anyone confirm thier front camera doesn’t take grainy pics so it’s even worth trying a replacement

Same problem here. A few days ago I switched from iPhone 13 Mini to iPhone 15 Pro especially for the camera but the photos are significantly worse.

They are often blurry, poorly defined, even if the subject is still.

The autofocus often misses the subject, and it is almost impossible to take click-and-shoot photos that are good.

I'm highly disappointed, if I went back I would have kept the iPhone 13 Mini (spectacular phone).

I hope they resolve it with some updates (hoping it's a software problem and not hardware).

I changed my Iphone from 13 pro max to 15 pro max a week ago.

I face blur quality picture through portraits even with changing settings to 48MP

Whenever While making the portrait the picture quality is very awesome but when I clicked the Picture then the picture portrait quality is very blurry n not having sharp or cool skin tone.

After update to 17.4 the issue not resolved till yet.

I compared with friend’s 12 pro max and his portrait picture quality is much better on 1x n 2x with same camera setting but iphone 15 pro max portrait has very bad quality picture ?

How to resolve this issue ?

Is this is hardware issue ?

I held off on an upgrade for the past 4 years, and this 15ProMax is by FAR a worse camera than anything I’ve used in the last 10 years. With video, I feel like I’m back to 512k pics. I take pics and videos of dogs and have done so for a couple decades. The white dogs are particularly horrible.. just washed out. Anything moving, even in full sun, is pixelated and absolutely embarrassing to send to clients. I’m past my initial return period. How can they get something THIS WRONG?!
