Airpods 3rd gen wont connect to iphone 15 pro max

I just got my new iPhone 15 and my airpods won’t connect. Everytime I try I get "connection failed".

To make sure i’m doing the right i’ve watched countless videos about how to connect them properly.

I’m :

1. Opening the case while beeing plug in.
2. pressing connect on the pop up on my iPhone screen.
3. holding the button at the back of the airpods cass
4. getting an error everytime

I tried holding the button for more than 30seconds to reset my airpods. They did. But still they won’t connect to my phone. Although, they can be paired to other iPhones like my girlfriend’s one.
