Mac Laptop

I recently brought a MacBook Air laptop, set it and had a password. The password worked for a few months then suddenly stopped, I changed the password so it also works on my iPad and iPhone but not on the MacBook. I want to reset the laptop and start again but following what people have suggested it’s not working.

Can anyone help with this ?

Resetting you Mac is neither simple nor quick and involves creating a bootable flash drive on a working Mac, booting the non working Mac from the flash drive, erasing the internal drive, installing a fresh OS then migrating your data from your backups.

Be absolutely sure you have backups before starting as erasing the drive destroys ALL data.

Try the link's suggested fix first. If that fails, repost and ask for guidance on "resetting" your Mac.
