How to disabled JavaScript in Safari on my iMac?

How do I disable Javascript in Safari 17?

Before I "upgraded" there was a simple menu item to do it.

Be that as it may , there used to be a “Disable JavaScript” item in the Develop menu that allowed you to disable JavaScript temporarily, without diving into the settings every time you wanted to do it.

That option is now gone, and people saying that site “don’t work without JavaScript” isn’t helpful, or even true.

This change (removing developer needed settings from the Develop menu) feels pretty asinine. One must already elect to show the Develop menu in settings, it's hidden for all but those who need it. Why pair it down or make it less helpful? Hard to imagine why it was necessary to remove settings. For non-developers, know that being able to suspend java script or withhold CSS settings is an important option to make, create and troubleshoot, all. A head scratcher. Seems my relationship with Apple continues to be one of love and hate. So tiresome when they remove handy and needed settings, regulating them to a place that just makes developing on Safari harder.

If they can't be bothered to read their own user community forums then I guess they don't get to benefit from the commentary within. It's not my job to make their product work and while I appreciate that they have a spot for feedback, I pay A TON OF MONEY, like most of us, on their products. They should be paying attention.

The purpose of this forum is not to give Apple feedback. It's so that users can help each other. However, I don't care if you leave feedback where Apple can see it or not. That's entirely up to you.

I would point out, though, in the time it took you to respond to me, you could have left feedback for Apple on the feedback page.
