UPDATED IOS NO SOUND ON NEW VIDEO FILES

Updated my IOS and now my AVCHD has no audio. Tested it on another Mac and yes, there is sound on my video file. Trying to edit in FCPX. Won't open in QT player and iMovie doesn't recognize audio. WTH?

I didn't mean to say IOS just operating system. Upgraded to Big Sur. Now I have to run video files on my card through Handbrake before I can import them into Final cut. It's an extra step now for some reason and it's BS. But it works. don't know why Mac abandoned that format.

Do you mean iOS on your iPhone/iPad or OS on your Mac?

Apple has not abandoned AVCHD at all. It works in the application and can be directly imported from camera cards.

Could you give full details of the camera and the format it’s shooting, and also what you’re doing to import from the card. How is it connected to the Mac?

Do you mean the AVCHD you shoot on the phone has no audio? Do you mean the export file you send from FCP to the phone has no audio? Are you using an Apple Devices preset?

Won't open in QT player: what won’t open in the QT player

and iMovie doesn't recognize audio: what audio, from where, what exactly are you doing?
