Battery draining fast on iPhone 15 Pro

Second day with the phone and had to charge it twice today and it’s back down to 19% after normal use…No apps running on background or extended use, battery health at 100% 🤷🏻‍♂️🤦🏻‍♂️

I just got my iphone 15 pro max on Friday. Today is Monday and the battery drains like crazy. All I have done today is make a 10 min phone call, and use Instagram for 15 mins and my battery went from 80 to 68. This has never happened with any of my older iphones

I just bought my iPhone 15 Pro last week, and the battery life STINKS! My 2 year old iPhone 13 Pro battery lasted twice as long. Now, I’m always worrying about whether I have a charger or battery pack on me. Also hope it’s only a software issue. Apple, PLEASE fix this. Using Maps app for a 30 min trip downtown for jury duty took it from 100% (right off charger) to 63%…😔

Same problem with iphone 15 pro max and iphone 15 pro (my girlfriend). For phones in this price range i expect more then half day of battery. When i scoll instagram i can see how the battery drains like crazy. I hope apple dev. team do some update for 15 pro and pro max series... Soooo bad promo Apple, you should fix is as soon as possible.

I experienced the same. I went back to apple 10 days later and told them I wanted my phone taken back as I was not happy with its performance. Since I am still on the 14days return period, they took it back without questions, but they will tell you first that this is normal etc etc. After that, I decided to trade it in for the same model, but this time, I told them to give me the iphone manufactured after Sept 2023 as the 1st phone given to me was manufactured in Sep 23, now the Iphone 15 promax I received was made on Nov 2023, which made a difference in the battery a bit. I still have until 25th to return this. So I am still using the iphone15 to the fullest but then again, I think I will return this as well and just wait for the 16.

I got my IPhone 15 Pro Max this January as I qualified for an upgrade. I kept my old phone just in case (iPhone 13 pro max). If I use my phone to call or watch videos it drops 20-30% within the hour.

my iPhone 13 Pro Max has been reset and put back in the box, two weeks later it still has 76% charge.

where did y’all go wrong with the iPhone 15? This phone is too expensive to die in under half a day and now I’m stuck in a contract:( thanks a lot apple.

Hi there, I calculated yesterday how much battery is drained during a 45min screen recording.

The only usage was internet navigation and WhatsApp communication. (And obviously the screen recording…)

But here is the thing: Apple says the 15 Pro lasts 23h of videos.

Here are my results:

1% every 3.60min

24h*60min=1440

1440minutes

1440/3.6=400min

400/60=6.7h

This is more than 17h less announced by Apple. Note that my battery health is at “100%”.

Im super annoyed. I hope they can tell me what’s going on at the Genius Bar. I have the 45min screen recording on my phone so I hopefully won’t lose time trying to prove them how bad it is. This is outrageous. 1800€ for this iPhone. And the battery doesn’t even last 7 hours??

I’ve noticed there’s a lot of things because they’re running in the background. One big culprit is Siri, I do it see anyone ever mention that as an issue, but it is an issue for the battery usage. It is actually turned on for every single installed app on your iphone and the only way to shut it off is to manually shut it off for every single app. I’ve noticed that siri is contributing to battery drain and when I took the time and effort to turn off every single app from Siri, my battery life got better.

Background refresh is another bad actor, even if you switched the toggle switch off for background app refresh for your device it still runs in the background for all apps that you did not manually turn that off for. Turning off background app refresh for every individual app one by one has helped my battery life.

“Always on display” you may want to turn that off. The only caveat is you have to press the side button to light up your display so you can use Face ID or passcode to unlock your phone. To be honest, I never liked always undisplayed because I’d accidentally unlocked the display and I’d accidentally butt dial people. The chances of me accidentally dialing people has gone down greatly and this is help my battery life. Those are some of the main things I’ve done to extend my life.

I get about 18 to 19 hours of battery life until my phone has to be charged at night. It’s not ideal, but it’s good enough for me.

you need to watch out for Apple iOS, updates, because Apple purposefully and maliciously turns those features back on in some of their updates. I noticed an iOS 17.4 this didn’t happen for the most part but in previous updates, I noticed that all these features turned back on all the time for every app. something you should watch out for

Yeah is that so ? :(

if someone is not using the phone at all.

Mobile data is turned off, Wi-Fi is turned off.

no application running in the background, the phone is in idle state. Location service are turned off, Bluetooth is turned off.

but still the battery drains quickly. You mean to say someone has spent 1200$ just to keep the phone in idle state.

why would someone spend this much on an iphone,

they can buy a basic Nokia phone

that’s far better than iPhone 15 pro

apple should better fix this or refund the money

if it can’t it

I totally agree with you, i got a brand new iPhones 15 pro max last week and it drains so fast, i used mine for about two hours and the battery went down like 10-20% if not in power saving mode which is crazy for a new phone. I have to charge my phone at least once a day and i do not even use my phone that much! It so crazy how when i got passed down iPhone 11 in 2020 would last me two whole days without charging. Apple you need to fix this ASAP this cannot be happening, keep you standards high.
