Battery draining fast on iPhone 15 Pro
Second day with the phone and had to charge it twice today and it’s back down to 19% after normal use…No apps running on background or extended use, battery health at 100% 🤷🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️

When you first activate it or do an iOS update, the iPhone always tend to drain the battery faster and this is due to the background process iOS does to optimize, including, but not limited to, syncing with iCloud, re-indexing your file system, photos, etc. (for faster search). This is normal and usually ends quickly, depending on the amount of data you have - the more data, the longer it takes.
Yeah I was having the same issue; returned my phone and gonna wait until all these issues are figured out before re-purchase. The new update showed promise for the first 10% (100-90%) then tanked again. I tried turning off everything possible to avoid battery drain but nothing helped.
Using 15 pro for a week now. Battery is much much worse than older iphone 11 n 13. Not sure what is the reason. But it is not able to last 1 full day. Turned off always on display as well but not working. Need help badly. Not what u expect from a new phone. :(
This is nth iPhone and I never had this battery drain issue with all my other previous iPhones despite being new and having all these background optimization processes. I am thoroughly disappointed in the battery of the 15 Pro. I do hope that it is just a software issue, in which case I hope that a fix is done immediately, and not an issue with the battery hardware itself. I am using a 2-day-old iPhone 15 Pro whose battery capacity is similar to my 4-year-old iPhone 11. It makes me dread how much worse the battery capacity of the 15 Pro will get over time. For what I paid for this device, I expect more. PLEASE FIX THIS, APPLE!
I’ve been using iPhone 15 Pro for almost 3 weeks now. The battery is draining so fast which is very frustrating for a premium model like this. I’ve been using iPhones from 4s but I never felt such a disappointment.
Hello, what's goin on Apple? I have my 15 Pro for about 2 weeks and can't use it for a whole day because of the battery. My 14 is better with battery - charged this morning and now it has 47%. My 15 Pro charged this morning and now I needed to charge again because of 17%. 14 is used all the time with fb, ig and other apps. The 15 Pro is not used because idk if I will have the battery till evening XDDD
I returned my iphone 15 plus for the 15 pro after 2days I can say the battery life is not what I expected from a 1100$ phone. It's just awefull. Thinking of returning this and getting the 15 plus where the battery life is insane I got 10-11hrs of sot. I could go no charge for almost 1.5 days.
Yes I have returned mine due to this. I went to bed at 11pm with 86% and wifi is off, woke up at 7:30am and it's at 55%. That's totally unacceptable for the price. Just bought iphone 15 plus and this thing I'm on my second day with 50% battery with 5hrs SOT.
I do have social media apps, but I just looked and the few that I have used today have only taken up less than 15% of my battery usage. I’m already passed the 72 hour mark of having this phone and the battery life isn’t getting any better. I’ve already been on the phone with tech-support, and they have looked through all of my settings and everything looks like it should be correct. I’m wondering if I should try a new phone by returning this one. Also has anybody had the black screen of death? I had that within 24 hours of activating the phone
ive had my iphone 15 pro for around 2 weeks now. i upgraded from an iphone xr (battery capacity at about 80%). the amount of time my battery lasts for is around the same time with the exception that i now have to use low power mode to stop significant drain. i have all my background refreshes turned off and i cannot turn off my location services for safety reasons. i do have instagram but that is my main messaging app so i cannot get rid of it. always on is turned off and i turned off my 5g. is there anything else i can do or is there a way to stop the significant drain? they claim the battery would last like 75 hours (probably no use if that??) and it struggles to last 15 with minimal use.
Hey everybody. My Iphone 15 Pro is basically brand new. 3 days old.
Today I took it off the charger at 8am fully charged and it was at 17% at 2pm.
By reading online, countless posts and blogs, it looks like its endemic to the new Iphones.
This is mind blowing. I am afraid this is no software issue but likely hardware. Did anyone address the topic with Apple Support yet?
Are they recognising the issue officially?
It turns out that the fix apple support allegedly made for my wife’s phone only worked for one day. Then my apple support rep called me back to tell me that they think there is a hardware problem with my wife’s iPhone 15 Pro and I should replace the device. We are now on our 4th iPhone 15 in 4 weeks and we will see what happens now. Our next step will be to get rid of the iPhone 15 permanently. Apple needs to own up to the problems with the iPhone 15.
No apps open. Just safari and on wifi and losing about 2% charge a minute. Battery lasts for an hour in use and the iphone 15 gets hot as soon as in use and very hot when charging. I don’t trust the device to charge when i’m sleeping. Will be returning and going back to the 12 pro
I just purchased the 15 pro and the battery drain is ridiculously fast. Looks like this is not a software issue if they are not able to fix it by now. I am going to return it and keep using my 13 pro until the next model year, they may have the issue fixed by then.
Hello,
After finally getting to speak to a Senior Advisor at Apple Support my problem has been escalated to Apple Engineering and apparently they are still looking into it.
They ran A LOT of diagnostics and the advisor conceded that the battery drain I was experiencing was not right.
I’ve got a callback booked for next week. If there’s any news I’ll add a comment here.
I’ve had my iPhone 15 pro now about 3 weeks and the battery drains at an insane rate. I’ve called Apple support and they’ve given me all sorts of suggestions on troubleshooting (including updating iOS) and ran diagnostics and said it’s fine. But there is no reason a brand new iPhone should be at less than 50% at 3:00 pm with little phone usage. I’ve also turned off all the apps from running in the background and it’s still now 7:00 and 19% and I’ve been so busy today I’ve hardly used my phone at all. This is exactly why I traded my last phone in and I’m having major regrets. I hate having to leave my phone stuck to a charger! It’s depleting rapidly. Please Apple, fix this issue!
