Battery draining fast on iPhone 15 Pro

Second day with the phone and had to charge it twice today and it’s back down to 19% after normal use…No apps running on background or extended use, battery health at 100% 🤷🏻‍♂️🤦🏻‍♂️

I just got my iphone 15 pro max on Friday. Today is Monday and the battery drains like crazy. All I have done today is make a 10 min phone call, and use Instagram for 15 mins and my battery went from 80 to 68. This has never happened with any of my older iphones

I am right there with you. I have never felt such regret with an iPhone purchase. my XR could last all night on a 100% charge, and maybe 30% or so. My 14 Pro Max will not last the night with a 100% charge. And we’re talking five hours because I don’t sleep that much. Plus, it gets very hot in the meantime. Last night, I used my earbuds, and it only used 6%. If I could find out what the connection is, maybe I could fix it. The thing is, it shouldn’t be like that. Everyone has all of these solutions like turning off IG, closing your Facebook apps, or whatever. I never did that before and we shouldn’t have to do that with a newer phone. I took it in as well. They told me there was nothing wrong with it.

Don’t get me started on the camera. That one really upsets me and it has ruined a lot of events for me.

I have the same issue. I got my iPhone 15 Pro Max a month ago and the battery drains like crazy. I miss my 13 Pro Max. The same usage would lead to a very slower battery decrease. I’ve always been a heavy user of Instagram, but the way it drains the battery on this 15 Pro Max is absolutely ridiculous. My battery Maximum Capacity is currently 100% but it behaves worse than my 13 Pro Max did when it had the capacity of 88%. This is sad.

I hope Apple address this issue in the upcoming software updates as many users are complaining about it.

I switched from 13 pro to 15 pro the battery draining is killing me. started a support chat and moved to call from apple support. He inspected and asked to turn off the home screen always on feature, that takes more than 25% of the battery. I turned off now and going to monitor for few more days, if that does not help the phone is going back to store (I still have 2 weeks time to return). will update if there is any change.

Hello,

Just a quick update.

I'd been having problems with fast battery drain and my iPhone heating up all the time since iOS 17 launched in September 23. Had the same problem on my iPhone 14 Pro, my new iPhone 15 Pro and the iPhone 15 Pro that replaced it because Apple initially thought the problem was faulty hardware.

I've been through Apple Support multiple times, sent a lot of diagnostics, run the iPhone with just Apple apps, with and without 5G switched off, with the Always On Display always off, with battery optimisation switched off, reset all the iPhones on several occasions, and had the problem escalated to engineering before Christmas. Nothing made any difference.

I'd not heard anything from Apple Support since then and continued to have to charge my constantly hot iPhone 3 times a day.

I installed iOS 17.3 last night (22/01) and today the phone is basically back to normal! Battery life is back to how I would have expected it to be all along.

Where the battery would easily run down to 50% in a few hours while doing nothing and a 20 minute phone call would knock 30% off the battery, today I've played a podcast for 40 minutes, made 2 hour long phone calls, and used Safari without the screen becoming hot to the touch all before 10am and the battery was still at around 85%.

Hopefully I'm not jumping the gun here, but it looks like iOS 17.3 fixed whatever the problem was. Fingers crossed.

I hope it's the same for everyone else.

My iPhone 15pro Max (256) drains faster than my 13pro Max did and it was at 81%! I have tried turning off the “background app refresh” I set my screen so dark I can barely see it, and I turned off the “constant on display”…. No where near “all day performance”…. Apple needs to fix this or recall this phone.

I thought only I have faulty iPhone 15 pro with battery drain issue.. Mine lasts about 12hrs before charging again. What's funnier my old 13 pro with 85% battery life lasts longer than brand new phone. APPLE you need to fix asap otherwise you will start losing loyal customers. Im with your eco system since iPhone 4 and never been so dissapointed since.
