Strange mouse click issue after updating Sonoma on MacBook Pro

I have a MacBook Pro M1 2020, it's having some strange mouse click issues right after I updated to macOS Sonoma. Anyone having the same problem? I hope Apple fixes the problem soon, it's irritating.

It was happening because I had McAfee total protection enabled. It's all fixed, mcAfee total protection will have to come out with an an update so it will be compatible with macOS Sonoma. I contacted Apple about it and they was doing a screen share. I disabled the virus protection.

OMG, I'm having a very hard time with my iMac. It's driving me crazy and I'm thinking it was a biggest mistake of my life purchasing this computer with all the problems it has. I've had this problem with the mouse before but after updating to Sonoma it gets worse. I can't do anything. my space doesn't work in some apps and also I can't open any files using space bottom anymore. the mouse has glitch a lot. for example when I'm using Pages and start typing pages starts moving and I can't type. and there is a weird blue boarder I can see in my screen all the time.

I really want to know what had happened to Apple! Where is the company? I used to have a cellphone, TV, mini speakers, laptop, and desktop all syncing perfectly. Now updates weekly, and every other week, the homekit devices must be reset because they are Apple with the same ID, but they often lose connection. Then we need to stop and spend hours fixing the issues, so where is the productivity promised when we pay for high-performance products? Notes and contacts are often duplicated itself; my agenda jumped from 1800 contacts to 25,700, and the same contact shows 17 times!!! Notes have been less 4 times just... Then we get there cleaning, but don't worry, it'll be duplicated again next week after a new update. I have spent one call of 5:30 hours with a specialist fixing the mouse... Erased the studio, and after two updates later, the mouse for $100 was lost again; since I don't have spare time in life, I waste money again with Logitech mice, too. I became an Apple user by 2009 because Win… used to act like this, but now, what is the point?

I have had a strange mouse issue since the last OS update on my MacPro - with Apple Magic Mouse.

When I select something in a list - "save", "Save as" etc... I choose something like "Save", and with no movement of the mouse, on the upclick, it selects "save as", (or whatever is below it on the list).

It's like the accuracy of the mouse is not there. And it moves on the upclick.

This is completely ridiculous. This issue has been bugging me for 3

months now. At first, I thought it was caused by some app I had

installed. I completely reinstalled macOS. Then I considered it must be a

hardware issue, so I thought about buying a new MacBook. Now I'm

thinking about buying a Windows laptop. How is it possible that such a

bug exists for so long?

Hey DCMACCER. I followed your instructions. Of course after restarting I had to reenable "show on desktop" but left the others off. It appears to have remidied my issues with two different Logi mice connected by a dongle. My MacMini M1 has first edition BT issues unresolved by Apple so can only use Logi mouse and keyboard ... which as others here have been reporting for past three months. It's early days yet but thanks for sharing your findings, so far seems to be working for me ... saved me going out and spending on a new mouse as I thought both my mice were just worn out ... not being able to hold a drag and drop properly. Good call. Thank you.
