predictive text

How do i keep the predictive text bar at the top of my keyboard but stop it from trying to predict and auto fill words it thinks i'm going to say? for example when i'm typing it willl try to think of what the next word im going to use and show it in a light grey color and if i click space it will automatically put it there. but this is very annoying because when i'm typing and try to click space to type my next word it automatically puts the word it wants and i have to keep deleting it.
