Missing are the. three dots that are usually above the Apple icon at top left of screen of my MacBook Pro. If someone knows how to recover the dots, I would appreciate some advice.

What did those 3 dots do before?

The Apple Logo is and has always been at the very top left of the screen on macOS. There has never been anything else above it, simply because there is no room.

Pages for Mac

Microsoft Word for Mac on the other Hand, has the 3 dots on the top left menu bar, and holds a small menu of options. Is that what you are thinking of?

Pages, which is what this community is about, has no three dots anywhere on its menu bar, nor does it place any dots above the Apple () icon. No application can decorate that Apple icon with overlaid dots.
