Macintosh HD icon has disappeared (ONLY the Icon, the Name "Macintosh HD" is still visible)

Hello everyone,

My "Macintosh HD" icon has disappeared. Unfortunately, I can't assign a new one because I would have to right-click in the info of the old icon. But there is simply nothing to click on at this point.

I have already tried to delete the finder preferences (~/Library/Preferences/com.apple.finder.plist) but that did not solve the problem.

Any idea what else I can try?

The whole thing on a Macbook Pro M2 under 13.2.1 (22D68)

insert a USB stick or some other drive.

Can you select and copy its Icon?

--No, then icons are damaged and you may need to re-install MacOS

--Yes. proceed

copy its icon (on the premise that a wrong icon is better than NO icon).

Have faith and click on the blank space to the left off the drive-name in the header.

paste into the space where the Icon belongs.
