icloud email set up problem

I can't set up my icloud email account in outlook using my icloud email address and my AppleID password. I get all the time an error message: either wrong email address or password. What shall I do?

Thanks for using Apple Support Communities. When setting up the account, did you generate an app-specific password as shown in the section "Do you need these mail server settings?" here: iCloud Mail server settings for other email client apps - Apple Support

OK, I solved it. I could generate a new app-specific password for my icloud email account and consequently to set it up in Outlook. Thanks a lot for the hint.

it could be, it's been long time ago, I can't remember. However, I changed my AppleID password right now, then all app-specific passwords should deleted, if I it's correct, but it is still not possible to set up a icloud email account using AppleID password. So what shall I do?
