As of 1/24/2023 the Nikon website does not list Sonoma as being supported. They must still be working out the bugs.

This worked to restore tethering and use of the Nikon webcam utility when connecting my D850 to my Mac Mini M1. It fixed the PC connectivity issues when trying to connect my Nikon via the USB cable.
This seems to be an issue with the Nikon Webcam utility. Nikon mentioned they will be testing the Webcam utility with Sonoma in this post. Let's hope they fix it soon.
On the paged linked to above Nikon says that it has been tested and works. I have not been able to get it to work no matter what I do with a nikon z50
It works with Windows perfectly but MacBook M3 OS Sonoma? Nope. :(
