Some emails are showing up in a foreign-looking language.

Some of my email docs are showing up in a foreign-looking language. When I print them, the emails (and PDF version of the files) are converted to normal original English. This does not happen with all of my emails just a few of the business related emails (e.g., health insurance notification) so far. Very weird. Has anybody else seen such?

You just need to get rid of the font which is substituting Ť for T.

A Font Reset should do that, but you would then have to reinstall all the ok ones that were deactivated by that process, if you needed any of those for your work.

Another idea, open Character Viewer, click on T, and look at the bottom right Font Variation pane and see if there is some font which is making this substitution.

Thank you for that suggestion, which I have completed now. However, the problem has apparently gone away. I had recently started using DuckDuckGo as my browser but when I started having multiple problems, I switched back to Safari. After doing that, I checked the funny font emails that I had gotten, and they returned to their normal font. So, whatever that had to do with anything, I don't know, but I seem to be okay now.

This is driving me crazy, ever since Sonoma. Some emails display this odd language that is probably not a language, and it also shows on Safari. Seems random. I've spent a few hours on the phone with tech support and it's been elevated but it keeps coming back.

The weird thing is if I copy the text and paste it into an email, it shows up correctly in English normal font.

I might try the suggestion below about resetting fonts in Font Book but I dread how that will impact all my work in Photoshop, Premiere Pro, etc etc.

I sure hope Apple recognizes there's a real problem and fixes it.

I'm on a Mac Studio, system is current.
