My Apple Watch asking for password when I call my iPhone

I misplaced my iphone so I called it using my apple watch which has a different phone number than my phone. The call goes thru, I can see the seconds of the call ticking off on my watch but my phone doesn't ring and my watch asks me to enter my password. After asking 2 or 3 times the call is disconnected. Any ideas?

Your Apple Watch should be sharing the same number as your iPhone for making and receiving calls. It might be allocated a different number for administration by your network, but in most cases that other number can not receive calls and it can never originate a call.

I suggest you find a different number (ask a friend or relative) to try calling your iPhone. Remember if the watch rings on the incoming call it might mask the sound of the missing iPhone so you might need to consider putting it somewhere out of hearing or set the watch to Silent. (Don't use Airplane mode or any of the other options which might mirror to the iPhone if it is within range).

Sorry I only got the "Hello" notice in my email, thought you were playing games. It's because I can't call my phone even tho they are different numbers, same account

They are not different numbers as Branta_uk explained. The Watch plan number is unusable unless it is a family paired watch for your child.

Now..

Did you also try pinging it from Control Center?

And even more interesting did you find the phone?
