Parental controls hacked by kids

Our teens have discovered a way to hack around apple’s parental controls, to get around app limits. For example, our kid has a limit on Tik Tok, but yesterday she was logged in, per the screen time report, for 7 hours longer than the limit. She admits, while the apps are grayed out during downtime/when the limit is reached, she shakes the screen until the app allows her to open it.

We have done all this. I assume you’re a robot, which is fine. A high tier developer should review this issue and test it. It is a glitch that children have discovered.

You should pay attention to two commonly overlooked aspects...

  1. Configuring device restrictions for your child's device.
  2. Setting up a screen time passcode on your own device for your child.
