red hands on mails

The icon itself implies that contact is on your "blocked" sender list... though according to Mail Help it's supposed to be the "prohibitory" symbol.

I do not have an explanation for this apparent conflict. It might be due to a Localization bug. Your Message Preview text seems to be using an unusual font, which may be an explanation.

Never seen the red hand before...

Is this the built in Mail.app ? If you have any mail extensions try turning them off and compare your results.

Mail>Settings>Extensions

you can try —

Open mail app select Mail>Settings>Privacy disable:

• Protect Mail Activity
• Hide IP address
• Block all remote content

third party mail client...(?) please clarify .
