My turn in kit was stolen from my porch. Can I turn in my device in person?

I am trying to trade in my iPhone 12. I recently purchased the iPhone 15.

I would suggest that you contact Apple Support first. You can do so here: Contact - Official Apple Support

They may be able to ship you a new trade-in kit.

I am able to detect and locate the iphone with it. But all I can do with Find my Iphone is to play sound on device or erase the device. My goal is to able to connect the iphone to macbook or any other device so that I can remotely back up the data inside...Would there be any insights? Really appreciate your help in advance. Thank you.
