Anyone else experiencing overheating for iPhone 14 Pro Max and iPhone 14 Pro after iOS 17 update?
the two phones are overheating and battery health is degrading very fast after updating to iOS 17!
I even updated the latest to 17.0.2 hopefully any bugs would be fixed but still facing the same issue!
any idea how to solve this!

I thought it was an isolated case with my iPhone running on IOS 17.1 getting very hot during charging, until I ran into this forum of people experiencing the same. I am also very unhappy that the my battery that I had replaced last year by Apple, is now down to 92% on battery health. The iPhone is losing its credibility each and every day with me, so much so, that I may soon go over to an Android.
Did you try to update your apps and hard restart your iphone?
Thanks for the help, but ya it’s definitely iOS 17 related. I’ve had my iPhone 14 Pro for a year and I have never had any overheating problems. I will see what happens with my iPhone 15 Pro. Thanks.
Same. Iphone 14 max. It started yesterday, Oct 8th 2023. It isn't a little warmer, it's a pretty significant one. Hot enough make me take my case off it.
Anyone find a solution? My iPhone 14 pro is draining battery so fast! Health is down to 90% and notice phone is heating up quickly.
If it’s not very demanding I’d reset the iphone as new iphone without using any backup if still overheating having it checked at the Apple Store, surely it looks like IOS 17 related
Apart from updating the iphone to IOS 17.0.3, update all the apps, restart the iphone as a new iphone without using the backup, visiting an Apple store....pretty much it
Even iPhone XR is now overheating after the 17.03 update done today. It’s really making bad impressions worring should I update my new iPhone 13 or not
When you say “reset” are you wiping the phone like a new one? Also, I had to not reload from iCloud backup. I only transferred over my messages and contacts with iCloud.
Yes, Mine started over heating from the last 2 days after updating 17.0.3

Mine too. Just started recently.
I just had my new iPhone 14 Pro delivered today, upgraded to iOS 17.1.1 about 4 hours ago and noticing the phone is pretty hot with light/no use.
My fingers are warming up just replying here…
I ended up having to DFU my 14 pro max. Have dropped 3% on battery health in a month..yes 1 months (98% to 95%)
I have the similar issue on my 14 pro after updating it to 17.1.1. I thought instagram was the issue but seems like it is still happening. It lost 10 percent in like 10 minutes.
