How to prevent iPhone 14 Pro from switching lenses for pictures through a telescope

I have a telescope with an iPhone holder so that I can use the iPhone to take a picture through the eyepiece. However, my iPhone 14 Pro appears to be constantly switching lenses, making it impossible to take a picture through the eyepiece. Perhaps the LiDAR is detecting an obstruction and trying to find a way around it? Not sure. But is there a way to set it to one lens and force it to use that one?

Or is there an app that would allow me to do this?

Hello ranboii,

If your iPhone is switching to the Ultra Wide camera, adjusting the Macro Control option may help:

You might see the Camera app transition to the Ultra Wide camera as you move your iPhone close to or away from a subject. You can control automatic macro switching by going to Settings > Camera, then turning on Macro Control. With Macro Control on, your Camera app displays a macro button  when your iPhone is within macro distance of a subject. Tap the macro button to turn off automatic macro switching, and tap it again to turn automatic macro switching back on.\

You can also find that information in this resource: About the Camera features on your iPhone - Apple Support

Otherwise, you can use the following link to provide more details on your experience with the Camera app: Feedback - Camera - Apple That is the best way to pass along your feedback.

Take care.
